"Liberation Thursdays"
This Thursday, June 19th from 5:30 pm to 8 pm at Cafe Nova (4308 N Western Ave) young urban professionals are invited to join other urban professionals to meet, network, and decompress after a hard day at the office in a casual setting. Listen to live music from C-plus, relax with a massage and enjoy free appetizers, or wash your cares away with Patron Margaritas drink specials.
NE Okla. City Sector Planning Meeting on June 19th at 6 pm
In order to reach more community members, a second meeting to discuss the Northeast Sector Plan has been scheduled for June 19th from 6 pm until 7:30 pm at Metro Tech located at 1900 Springlake Drive. The Northeast Sector Plan process is a collaboration effort led by Oklahoma City's Planning Department to address suburban growth and acreage development in Northeast Oklahoma City over the next 20 years.

Community Forum Great Success
The June 8th Community forum, “was a great success,” said Capitol Chamber Board Chair John Hasley. The forum co-sponsored by the Chamber had close to 200 citizens, business leaders and elected officials. Read more >> |

"Show Me the Money 2" Continues discussion of business financing
June Minority & Business Breakfast continued the discussion of how business can access financing and government grants for both funding and business opportunities. Jeff Jenkins President of Technical Innovative Concepts and Bob Smith with Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance. Those in attendance were motivated by the message, "Just Do It!"
Africa West A Hit!
The Inaugural Africa West Festival was a great success. Close to 1,000 individuals attended the June 14th festival. They were treated to a wide variety of activities and events that included listening to traditional African music, local jazz and gospel performers. Those in attendance were able to see the works of 16 local artists and visit with vendors from different organizations. They also got to taste the wonderful food provided by 14 cooks competing in the Soul Food Competition. Read more >
